Noriko was born in Kanagawa, Japan and began her study of dance at the Sasaki Mika Ballet Academy (Japan). She then attended The Australian Conservatoire of Ballet (Melbourne, Australia), majoring in classical ballet arts and contemporary dance.  She attended summer programs at Academy Dance Classic Princess Grace (Monaco, France) before joining San Diego Ballet.
